  • Today I got one of the most unlikely phones calls I have ever gotten, and probably will ever get. The call was from a lady from some movie company wondering if I could bring my car down to the Shed Cafe to be in a film. Talk about a jaw dropper! She said they had too many green cars and heard that I had a red car. So I excitedly rush down to the set and parked the car where they wanted it, stood back and watched them do their thing. Then signed a tax form and drove away. That was the easiest money I've ever made in my life. I have no clue as to what I'm going to get paid, but I don't care. Right now the movie is called "A Texas Children's Story"  they said it might get changed by the time it comes out. It's about two 12 year old kids that go on a road trip to get away from some abusive parents in Texas.......I think. Anyways I just hope it is a family friendly movie.

  • Well now I have two way of traveling.  By air and now by land.  I can finally drive my own car to go fly my plane.  My Dads first car was 1965 and my first car is a 1964 Buick Wildcat with a 401 nailhead engine. Okay here are some pics.

I love the car.  It is so much fun to drive.

  • Things you can do with 3 1/2 cents.

Drive around the block-once. (That was fun.)

Take a 34-second shower. (How, uh, refreshing.)

    Re-use yesterday's tea bag. (Okaaay ...)

Eat 1/30th of candy bar. (Do I need a coupon?)

Run your home computer for 30 minutes. (Hope it has high-speed.)

Far Out Fact:  Proportionally the surface of the earth is smoother than a billiard ball.

  • On Saturday the pics wouldn't upload.  Then on Monday and Tuesday I was sick. So that is why I haven't posted till now.

I was on the 17th hole at Fiddlers Green slightly frustrated because I missed a par putt and ended up getting 2 over par.  So I'm in the tee box not even really aiming for the hole that was 76 yards away but trying to get the right distance down.  And finally I got a good shot off.  I thought it was going too long, but I was okay with that.  To my surprise it landed about 3 yards in front of the pin.  As it was rolling I thought, "That would be sweet if it went in".  Next thing I hear was, clink!  For the first few seconds I just stood there not believing what I had just witnessed.  Then I was running all over the tee box area jumping up and down like a little kid that just got exactly what he wanted for Christmas. For most people a hole-in-one is a once in a life time thing and for a lot of people it's a never in a life time thing.  So that is why I was just a little bit excited.  The funny thing was that it was on the 17th hole on the 17th day of the month when I was 17.  After I was done I went inside to go buy another 9 holes and I told the lady behind the desk that I got a hole-in-one.  She got kind of excited and gave me this trophy thing to hold the golf ball that I used.  And then she put my name in the paper.

  • I would be amazed if any of you noticed my name on page C4 of the Register Guard 2/18/09.  If you want to know why, just find it.  Otherwise you will have to wait till I post later.  I'm too tired to say anything else right now.  But I will say it was a once in a life time thing though.

Far Out Fact:  Twelve percent of lightning strikes occur at golf courses.
